Huge deployment for the MEDIAPRO coverage of the Pan-American Games from Lima
From July 26th MEDIAPRO has been producing the Pan-American Games with the project set to run until August 11th. The event is the biggest sporting competition outside the Olympic Games and will see 6,664 athletes take part in 39 different sports and 62 disciplines. Friday July 26th saw the opening ceremony take place covered for the very first time in 4K technology with the rest of the event and the closing ceremony also being filmed in the cutting-edge broadcast technology. MEDIAPRO will be distributing the broadcast feed 24/7 covering all the events live and providing recorded content for 33 operators across 41 different countries. As soon the game finish, MEDIAPRO will also be producing the Para-Pan-American games from August 23rd to September 1st.
MEDIAPRO is responsible for the broadcast of the sporting events featured in the Games, with close to 1000 hours of coverage with more than 650 staff taking part, 16 OB vans, 27 ENG units and dozens of high tech’ systems to cover the 2800 events across 21 sites. More than 298 cameras, 64 cutting-edge units including beautyshots, robot-controlled and aquatic cameras, polecams, Jimmy Jib, steady cam, omnicam and drones, to provide the very best coverage of the event.
MEDIAPRO is also responsible for the set-up of the International Broadcast Center (IBC) located in the Convention Centre in Lima where all the broadcast feeds are to be sent from the 21 host venues for their subsequent distribution to the 33 international TV operators who are covering the event. The IBC is also offering technical services for the teams covering the event as well as setting up TV studios and live connection points.
MEDIAPRO has a proven track record of event production and broadcast feed distribution of large sporting events. It is currently producing 13 football leagues, including the competitions in Spain, France, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, Columbia, Bolivia, Kenya, Gabon and Mozambique Events covered include the finals of the UEFA Champions League, the Copa América, FIBA World Championships, FIFA Confederations Cup, Euroleague Final Four, The Arab Games, F1 races, Roland Garros and the World Surf Championships in Australia.
