“Vis a Vis” is in the home straight with the last ever episode of the series “Yellow Tide”, a nod to the name given to its loyal viewers, set to air tonight on FOX, the 4th February at 22:00. With the broadcast of the last episode, the FOX Networks Group Globomedia (MEDIAPRO Group) fiction series comes to an end with the outcome that all the show’s fans were wanting.

“Vis a Vis” has been a huge success on FOX and has kept up the high standards of previous series over these two seasons. In fact, every Monday Vis a Vis has been the audience favourite on pay-tv entertainment channels over the third and fourth seasons, which were aired in April and December 2018 with only better viewing figures on FOX from series such The Walking Dead. The series has been the number one viewing choice every week in the prime-time Monday slot and is among the most watched Spanish productions averaging more than 300,000 viewers, with another 200,000 watching after its initial airing (6 out of 10 viewers have chosen to watch it this way) according to Kantar Media data, based on TV viewing only and not across other devices.

“Series have to end when the plot needs it. The 4th season of Vis a Vis has kept up the action and surpassed our expectations of the series was capable. So, for that reason we’ve decided that now’s the perfect time to bring it to an end and give it the final that it deserves and the viewers have been asking for. Extending it for the sake of extending it has no real point in fiction series. We didn’t want Vis a Vis to fall into that trap of just of going on and on”, commented Iván Escobar, the executive producer and series show-runner.

“When decided to make more seasons of Vis a Vis, one of our goals was to give it an ending in line which matched the quality of the rest of the series. In these two seasons, which we’ve had the pleasure of working together with Iván Escobar and the Globomedia team (MEDIAPRO Group), the series has performed to a very high standard, loved by audiences and taken to us the top spot in the viewing charts. We believe we’ve been able to make a great product, right up there with the very best current Spanish fiction and that’s why we’ve decided to call it a day”, added Daniel Pérez, VP & Director General of FOX Networks Group Spain.

“We knew that FOX Networks Group would be an excellent partner for this project. We’re really happy with the results which have matched out initial quality and audience goals and have helped to get Vis a Vis to even more viewers, a benchmark series in our market with a high international profile”, commented Javier Méndez, Global of Director Global de Content at the MEDIAPRO Group.

“FOX has extended the series beyond the TV screen, thanks to a brilliant promotional strategy which has been a huge part of its success both in the media and online, in line with the very best international fiction products”, added Javier Pons, Director General of Globomedia.

Vis a Vis has lived up to expectations on FOX, and even between seasons the network has continued to keep the series in the mind of the viewers with nods to the “yellow tide” over the summer. The video by the singer Miriam Rodríguez; the Halloween promo campaign with Maggie Civantos and Najwa Nimri, in their respective roles as Macarena and Zulema, taking on a group of zombies in Cruz del Norte as well as the Christmas campaign #NosHemosPortadoMal with Itziar Castro, which raised eyebrows.

The last episode of the series sees appearances from Maggie Civantos, Najwa Nimri, Alba Flores, Berta Vázquez, María Isabel Díaz, Ramiro Blas, Itziar Castro, Marta Aledo, Laura Baena Torres, Zaira Pérez, Abril Zamora, Jesús Castejón and Cristina Marcos, as well as special guest appearance from La Mala Rodríguez, whose song for Vis a Vis featured in the previous episode.
